THE CITY OF BEIRUT:
Beirut the capital of Lebanon was built on the largest rocky promontory of the cost , it was in the ancient times overshadowed by more powerful neighbors.
When Sidon or Tyre began to decline in the first millennium B.C, Beirut acquired more influence & in the Roman times Beirut became an important port & a cultural center.

BAALBECK:
Baalbeck is an acropolis in the Bekaa valley considered as one of the largest & best preserved corpus of Roman architecture left to us. Many ancient temples are existed there, immense columns & other impressive ruins can be seen there.

ANJAR:
Anjar is the only walled remaining city in Lebanon, the stones & carvings were brought by a decree of the Omayyad caliph Al-Walid in the early 8th century A.D. the ruins of this sites recall the days of the first Moslem suzerains. who speared their influence from Damascus to Spain & India.

THE GROTTOS OF JEITA:
In the heart of the mountains the Water grotto Jeita was discovered in 1837 to a distance of 7 km. into the mountain rock uncovering a dazzling array of stalactites & stalagmites. In the nineteen sixties another magnificent Dry grotto was discovered. Those two grottos in Lebanon were developed to be a very popular tourist distention.

This magnificent palace was built in the 19th century , decorated by Damascene artists. The palace with it’s arcades , galleries & rooms is a grate model of the eastern architecture. Today this building houses a museum.

TRIPOLI (TRABLOS):
Tripoli is the second largest city in Lebanon, it was the center of Phoenician confederation with Sidon, Tyre & Arados Island, hence the name Tripoli means Triple city.
This city is reach with monuments from Crusaders & Mamluke times.

BYBLOS (JBAIL):
One of the oldest town in the world ,around 90000 years old & one of the richest archeological areas in the middle east. It was the commercial & religious capital of the Phoenician cost. This old part of the town with it’s cafés , restaurants & ruins make Byblos a popular distention.

SIDON (SAIDA):
Sidon was the third grate Phoenicians state rivaling Byblos & Tyre as a navel power, it was the capital of the fifth Persian satrapy & a showplace of buildings & gardens. The castle of the sea, the Grate Mosque, the ruins of the castle of St. Louis, The Phoenician temple & the burial ground are some of the remarkable features in this site.

TYRE (SOUR):
Tyre was built on a small rocky island near the cost, in the 10th century two ports & a temple were constructed on the mainland sector of the city. Behind the walls of this city Tyrians successfully defied their enemies till the island was overwhelmed by constructing a grate causeway from the shore to the island. Impressive Roman & Phoenician’s remains remarks this island, it’s also notable for it’s high-rise buildings. Not far from Tyre is Qana where Jesus turned water into wine at the wedding feast.
